Going Broke by Saving Money?

AmEx and BofA recently introduced, respectively, a credit card and debit card that purport to help cardholders add to their savings accounts.  While helping Americans improve their pitiful savings rate is a good thing, these products might cause consumers to forget that the best way to save is to REDUCE their use of cards.
